ABOUT US

This concerns who we are as Christ the Lord Gospel Church, what we do, and how and why we do what we do as Christ’s spiritual and visible organic body and God’s righteousness on earth in Christ’s righteousness.

Christ means what He meant when He says, “I must be about my Father’s business” (Lk. 2:49). He was in the Father’s business when He said, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent  Me and to finish His work” (Jn 4:34). Christ’s proclamations are packed with action and active verbs such as “be, do, sent, and finish” which in themselves demonstrate His intentional and unwavering submission and intimate devotion to the Father God and His business affairs: Personal sanctification, proclaiming the good news to the poor in spirit, healing the broken-hearted, setting the captives free, releasing prisoners from spiritual bondage, showing empathy, sympathy, and compassion to the afflicted and offering eternal life to believers in Him (Jn. 17: 18-19, Is. 60:1-2, 61:1-2, John 3:16).  Christ embodies the fullness of the Godhead in word, deeds and claims that “He who has seen Me has seen the Father…The words I say to you I do not speak on my authority. Rather, the Father living in me is doing His works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves” (Jn 14:9-11), “I and My Father are One”(Jn10:30), “I Am the light of the world” (Jn 8:12; 1Jn 1:5) . He embodies who we are as God’s redeemed and restored image and likeness, righteousness, light of the world, masterpiece, and diffusers of the fragrance of His knowledge. And as the manifestations of God’s manifold wisdom and grace in thought, word, character, attitude, deeds, power, sanctification, and holiness. He links and intimates the nature of our new creation to the relationship, fellowship, love,  wholeness, personality, life, and functions of the Godhead and personifies every aspect and faculty of our lives and state of being in Himself in proclamations such as:

  1. 12. Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the work I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name so that the Father may be glorified in the Son (Jn 14:12-13). (Emphasizes intimacy).

  2. 19 Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you (Jn 14:19-20). (This emphasizes the believer’s relational intimacy and fellowship with the Triune God as the unit cell of the organic Church, the body of Christ).

  3. 24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds (Jn 10:24)(Emphasizes the Christian’s Christ-kind integrity).

  4. 22 The glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me (Jn 17:22-23) (Emphasizes believers who abide in Christ as the fruit-bearing branches of Christ, the True Vine, for God’s glory.

  5. 14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matt. 5:14-16). (Emphasizes Christians as the light of the world, just as Christ is).

  6. As the Father has sent me, even so, send I you (Jn 20:21). (Emphasizes mission in Christ’s name).

The apostles in the Holy Spirit affirm Christ’s revelation of who we are with validity and relevance that:

  1. We are one in spirit with Christ and our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:17-20).

  2. We live, move, and have our being in Christ (Acts 28:17).

  3. We are who Christ is in this world and live by His faith (Heb. 2:10-12, 1 Jn 4:17, Gal. 2:20).

  4. We are made alive with Christ, raised up with Him, and now seated with and in Him in the heavenly places on God’s right hand, far above all principality, power, might, … (Eph 1:20-2:10).

  5. We are complete in Christ in whom dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Col. 2:9-10).

  6. We are Christ’s ambassadors and God’s righteousness on earth in Christ’s name (2 Cor. 5:21-22).

  7. We are set apart to manifest God’s manifold wisdom to principalities and powers in the heavenly places, and manifold grace to people of all nations and backgrounds (Eph. 3:10, 1 Pet. 2:4).

As CLGMinistries, we live to the utmost capacities and capabilities of who we are in Christ, pursuing the life and walk of intimacy, integrity, and fruitfulness of the Godhead in Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are about the same “Father’s business” with the same means for the same reasons and cause in the name of the Father just as Christ (Jn 17: 19-23, 2 Cor. 5;17-22). We live, love, and lead by serving on account of Christ’s faithfulness, witnessing and disciplining people of all nations and backgrounds into relational intimacy and fellowship with the Triune God as participants in God's divine nature and mission. We are ministers of Christ through the fellowship of the Holy Spirit in Christ. This is what God predestined us for.

CLGMinistries extends an invitation to you for fellowship where Christ sets people free from spiritual bondage and shepherds us to the measure of His fullness in the power of the Holy Spirit through the ministry of the Word and prayer. We warmly welcome anybody thirsty, broken in heart, and seeking the transforming healing of Christ into a personal relationship with God. We are here to serve you so that together we can serve others and impact our communities and humanity as Christ’s true disciples.

We are the WorldLife, WorldLight, & LifeLight in Christ to all humanity.
