DECLARATION

Isaiah 62:2

The nations will see your righteousness. World leaders will be blinded by your glory. And you will be given a new name by the Lord’s own mouth.

Names are very important. A persons name is connected to his identity and his relationship to people around him. When a persons name is mention, the next thought is what he or she is identified with. Though Abraham’s parent gave him the name Abram, God changed it Abraham and Sarai became Sarah (Genesis 17:1-8). Their names identified them as parents of many nations according to God's plans for them.

In Genesis 32:22-32 the bible says Jacob on his way to meet his brother Esau wrestled with an angel in Peniel. His name was changed from Jacob which meant a “deceiver” to Israel which means "an overcomer", because he had struggled with God and had overcome. (Genesis 32:28).

Also, in 1Chronicles 4:9-10 Jabez's birth was difficult and for this reason, his mother name him Jabez meaning "he makes sorrowful". This influenced his life as he was full of pains and challenges until he prayed. Thus the bible says that Jabez was more honorable than his brothers because he received a new identity that brought him honor.

Finally, Gideon was hiding his wheat from the Medianaites and the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of velour." His I identity was revealed and his life was never the same. May God help you and deliver you from any evil and curse attached to your name. May He reveal unto you your new identity and name ,may he help you to function in it.

Declaration:

I declare I am functioning in my new name and identity because my eyes are spiritually open to see the invisible plans of God concerning my life in Jesus’ name, amen.

Father thank You for my new name, amen.
